Find answers to common competitor questions.
How do I know which class my car belongs in?
Each class has specific drivetrain, tire size, and power adder requirements. Review the class rules for complete details or contact the NOPI team if you're unsure.
Do I need an NHRA competition license?
Yes. Every competitor needs a competition and membership number. An NHRA competition license is required if your car runs 9.99 or quicker. For 10.00 and slower, a valid government ID (beyond a learner’s permit) or an NHRA license is accepted. See the full requirements on the Classes & Rules page.
How are championship points awarded?
Points are awarded through eliminations, plus qualifying and class records. See the Championship Points table above for the breakdown.
Do I have to attend every championship race?
Yes. To be eligible for the championship and year-end purse, competitors must attend all three NDRA events. Check the Purses & Points section for full eligibility details.
Where do I register for an NDRA event?
Open the event you plan to attend from the NDRA Championship Events section or the Events page, then follow the registration instructions for that event.
