OUR HISTORY
A LEGACY BUILT
BY CAR PEOPLE.
For over six decades, NOPI has been at the center of car culture, bringing together enthusiasts, brands, and communities from around the world. It's a story of passion, people, and culture that refuses to slow down.
1966
NOPI began as a small parts company with a big vision—providing a trusted source for performance parts and building a community around cars.
1988
The first NOPI Nationals marked the start of a movement combining car culture, competition, and lifestyle like never before. It quickly became a can't-miss event.
1990s—2000s
NOPI grew into a national brand, expanding through major events, media, and a dedicated following that helped shape modern car performance culture.
2027
The next chapter is here. With a renewed vision, NOPI continues to grow motorsports and push car culture forward for generations to come.
Number One Parts, Inc.

Founded by
William Myers
THE FOUNDER
WHERE THE
MOVEMENT STARTED.
Every NOPI story starts with William Myers. In 1966, he founded Number One Parts, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. Those initials became the name car people across the country would come to know: NOPI.
Myers built the business around enthusiasts. Number One Parts grew into a chain of stores across the Southeast, best known for parts for Volkswagens and other imports.
The customers who came to NOPI for parts became a community. In 1988, NOPI began hosting its own car shows, and by 1990 the NOPI VW Nationals had moved to Atlanta's Lakewood Fairgrounds. Those gatherings grew into the NOPI Nationals Motorsports Supershow and helped shape import and tuner car culture nationwide.
Today's car shows, NDRA drag racing and drift events all trace back to the parts business William Myers started more than sixty years ago.
